Because she followed the bible. George wasn't the best father but did really cared about this family. Mary mother disrespected him when she had the chance to destroy him. George actually had a real future in coaching college future with a few universities but didn't because he thought about his family. She didn't care about anyone but herself. She made religion a thing that the majority of people started hating. She didn't have to hide all the acceptance from universities. George and Mary should've spoken about Sheldon future over hiding everything from George. George was always put last over everyone. Plus, the mother wasn't the best and treated George like shit. Mary always thought about her and the mother. Mary only cared or thought on what people would think about her and her family. She never put anyone but her religion and sheldon. She could've ruined Sheldon future because she didn't want her child to have a real future. Mary was such a horrible person. I always hated how George was put last in this show over everything. George was such a good person and father. When they had the chance to go to oklahoma. They could've gotten out of this crappy town and do more for himself and family. This was such a crappy thing from Mary. I wouldn't know what to do if my wife would do something like this. Only cared about herself and not her sons future.
